Take a Look, It's in a Book~

Updated: Sep 16, 2022

As always I (Akira B. - Head of WS Press) want to thank you for supporting Wild Star Press! I can't wait for you to see everything in store!

If you haven't seen it already, at first we had three titles coming up, but now we have four have and I'm excited to share some sneak peeks!

Plastic Crown #4 - Kanon Daniel

Genre: Mystery

A story of a young and reluctant pageant queen who's trapped under her mother's thumb. She makes her first friend, despite her mother's rules, thus leading her to uncover dark secrets she may not be ready to face.

Debuts: July 26th!

Little Bug - Jay Boyd w/ Coloring & Lettering assistance by Rebecca M.

Genre: Horror

About a little girl who moves to a new neighborhood with her dads, only to find solace in a stuffed bunny that had been abandoned in the house prior. However, her solace quickly becomes distress when she learns why the stuffed bunny was left behind.

Debuts: August!

I Took The Right Bus, But Somehow Ended Up In The Demon World! - Kathleen Catwell

Genre: YA Action Comedy with Manga Influences

Follows the main character, Iris, who instead of leaving for vacation from college, ends up in a precarious situation of having to fight her way out of the demon world to get back home.

Debuts: Tentative August Date (WS Press likes to give creators the time they need, so delays sometimes occur. But it's okay! The book is still in the works!)

Mere Mortals - Axel Moon

Genre: YA Fantasy

When a supernatural disaster forces them out of their home, a human girl has to team up with a

group of bounty hunters to break her adoptive grandpa out of a terrible nursing home for old

monsters.

Public Cover Reveal: July 26th!

Debuts: September!

What Else?

Now that this anthology is over, what else is WildStar Press going to do?

Publish more books of course! And plan for the next anthology!

As you can see, there's a handful of books in the works, with two more that haven't been announced (or at least had their covers revealed) and because of that, I won't be opening submissions until Late Spring 2023! A lot has been happening for the press in the past year and I want to make sure every book gets its love and spotlight before I jump to the next.

What about the anthology?

I'll be posting a poll on social media for which topic people would prefer more sometime late August. I want these anthologies to be for the people so why not ask them what they'd be interested in! However the actual anthology may not begin until Fall-Winter 2023 for previous reasons stated.

Next Newsletter/Blog?

Things to look forward to:

  • End of July or Early August!

  • Creator Interviews (Hah, promise they are coming!)

  • More Book Sneak Peeks (Little Bug and maybe one more!)

So! Stay tuned!

With all that being said, thank you so much for reading, supporting, and watching WildStar Press grow.

- Akira B.
