What We’re Looking For:

  • Creators 18 years or Older

  • Solo Creators or Complete Teams 

  • All Genres 

    • Middle Grade and older

  • WS Press is looking for stories that have strong narratives with interesting and diverse characters.

  • Completed Stories, not series.

    • Short Stories or Graphic Novels

      • Minimum of 20 pages, Maximum of ~100 

  • You can pitch your idea as a short story with the possibility of future extensions, however the story pitched must be a stand-alone concept.

  What We’re Not Looking For: 

  • Submissions from creators younger than 18

  • Prose, poetry, illustrations, pin-ups, zines, light novels, photography, and music 

  • Monthly Serials

  • Fanwork

  • No slurs, no racist statements nor imagery, no misogyny, no transphobia, no ableism, no xenophobia, and any other hateful rhetoric

  • Previously Published Work

Create a Pitch Packet PDF that includes: 

  • Title

  • Creator Name(s): If there’s a team, everyone’s name should be listed along with what their role is.

  • Preferred Email

  • Proposed Length: # of pages for the comic

  • Color or B&W

  • Production Timeline with a rough estimate of completion date

  • Audience Rating: YA, Adult, Mature, Middle Grade, etc

  • Genre and Theme(s)

  • Log-line: Your 1-3 sentence “elevator pitch”

  • Complete Story Outline/Full Summary: Beginning, Middle, and End with spoilers included

  • Main Characters (Sketches/Descriptions)

  • 5 sequential pages (with at least 3 complete), representative of the finished work

  • Name(s) and Role(s): State if you are the sole creator or if you’re specifically the artist, writer, etc of the team

  • Portfolio(s): Portfolios should include comic pages. You can include links to full completed comics if you desire.

  • Biography: Along with your pitch, WS requires info about you! Introduce yourself, explain what you do/are known for with your work!

  • Add proper Attachments: Signed Submission Agreement & Pitch Packet
